Feminist Leadership and Activism Pilot Program 2009-2010
Activism: working for and creating political and social change
Leadership: ability to guide, direct, influence people and organizations
Program Goals:
1. Students will experience coordinated and meaningful core learning opportunities in feminist leadership & activism development.
2. Students will develop as leaders and be challenged to identify themselves and engage as activists and change agents on campus
and in community
3. Students will critically think about how systems of oppression affect change processes and role as change agents.
4. Students will experience sense of community among student activists and feminist leaders.

Program Requirements
Attend monthly activist lecture series & dialogue session (Goals 1, 3, 4)
Jan. 27; Feb. 24; Mar. 31; April 28; May 26 from 12-2pm in 565 SSLC
Reflection/evaluation (Goals 1, 2, 3)
Meet with WC staff to create individualized plan with individualized learning outcomes and plan for completion.
Submit some form of self-reflection (ie art form, paper, journaling, etc) each quarter (ongoing evaluation) to WC staff
Shared reflection upon completion of program (Goals 3, 4)
Create some form of reflection that summarizes how this program has supported your growth as a feminist leader and activist. Share this reflection with others in the program or in your own community at the end of your experience.
Action project (Goals 1, 2)
Either individually or in a group, design and implement an activist/advocacy project with the purpose of creating change in a particular setting/with a particular population.
