Regan Johnson
Program Manager, UC Wellness Center
1st year grad student in Health Promotion and Education
Regan Johnson is a dynamic force in the UC Wellness center coordinating a number of different programs and interacting daily with student on campus. We contacted a busy Regan and asked her to share some of her driving influences with the women of UC. Her candid responses are below.
Johnson is most proud of graduating from college, becoming a mother and returning to college to obtain her master’s degree. “I am the first person in my family to go to college, so graduating with a degree was a big step for me. Early in my high school career I didn’t expect to go to college, but as my career continued I realized that if I wanted to be successful I needed to go to college and get a degree.”
Johnson credits her mother for molding her into the person she is today. “My mother has always been a very positive figure in my life. I would hope to one day have the courage and strength my mother possesses. I grew up in a single family home where we experienced some hard times, but even when times were tough my mother had the strength to move on and make sure I always had what I needed.”
What does Regan wish someone had told her earlier in life? “Not to take life too seriously and to continue having fun! I once thought that when you grew up, got married and had kids that your life would forever change. I do believe that it has changed my life, but it hasn’t taken away everything that previously existed in my life. It is so important to continue spending time with friends and having a good time. Life is about having fun and living it to its fullest.”
The UC Women’s Center is proud to salute Regan Johnson’s contributions to campus.
