ACT (Activists Coming Together)
The purpose of ACT is to:

  • Build community for students who are committed to feminist activism
  • Provide students with coordinated and meaningful learning opportunities, including feminist leadership & activism development
  • Develop students as leaders and engage them as activists and change agents on campus and in community
  • Challenge students to critically think about how systems of oppression affect change processes and one’s role as change agent

Activism Brown Bag Lunch Series
The brown bag lunch series takes place on the first Wednesday of most months from 12p-1p in 559 Steger Student Life Center. Activism and change occur at all levels and in different arenas and issues. We welcome activist work of all kinds, the wider the variety of experiences the better!

Elect Her

Elect Her — Campus Women Win is a daylong conferencedesigned to give college women the concrete skills they need to be confident torun for student government.  The event is co-hosted by the University ofCincinnati Undergraduate Student Government and the AAUW (American Associationof University Women).  Sessions include:Creating a campaign strategy; The nuts and bolts of running for StudentGovernment ; Building a campaign team; Crafting a campaign message and elevatorspeech; Campaigning simulation; Networking reception with currentfemale elected officials in the Cincinnati area, andcurrent Student Government representatives. 

*Men are more thanwelcome to register for the conference, much of the focus will be placed onchallenges for women running for election, however the tools necessary to runfor elected office are still the same.

Need someone to talk to? Peer Advocates are here to help!

Peer Advocates provide confidential support to student victims of sexual assault, intimate partner violence and stalking. They have completed over 40 hours of training by campus and community experts and receive ongoing supervision by the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC). To contact an advocate, contact ucpeeradvocate@gmail.com or call the UCWC Reclaim 24-hour Help Line at 513-218-9531.

$tart $mart: Salary Negotiation Workshop
Graduating women students are invited to attend and learn how to successfully negotiate salary and benefits at the start of their careers.  This project was developed by AAUW and the Wage Project to address the ongoing gender wage gap in which women earn just 69% of what their male counterparts earn.
