WILL History

I've learned that I have a story to tell and that I want to tell the world.

The WILL program was originally founded in 1980 at the University of Richmond. WILL became the first program in the United States to offer courses in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies combined with internships and leadership opportunities outside of the classroom. There are now over 20 WILL programs across the United States that have established communities promoting women’s leadership development. For a list of other WILL programs, please click here.

The WILL program at UC is designed in partnership by the Women’s Center and the Department of Women’s Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Amy Howton, Assistant Director of the Women’s Center, coordinates the program with assistance from WILL Graduate Assistant Mercedes Katis.
