Allergy to Laboratory Animals

All employees, students, visitors, and contractors must be aware that animal hair and dander are present in animal housing and procedure areas of the University of Cincinnati.

Animal hair and dander may be present in rooms or areas that do not contain animals at the time you are there.

Employees, students, visitors, and contractors may need to avoid rooms that have contained animals or wear personal protective equipment if they know that they have allergic reactions to animal hair or dander (red eyes, sneezing, coughing, itching, rash, asthma).

If you believe  that you have an illness or injury related to exposure to animals while working or visiting the University of Cincinnati, you must call Environmental Health & Safety at 513-556-4968 or University Health Services at 513-584-4480 to report your illness or injury.
