Services provided: Emergency care for suicidal, homicidal patients, case management. Available for all UC students. Counseling Center Directed by Carol Yoken, Ph.D., -part of Student Affairs and Services
Services provided: Counseling for anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, family difficulties, self esteem, adjusting to new situations, physical and sexual assault and abuse, academic difficulties, grief, trauma, and other personal issues. Individual, couple, and group counseling. Emergency walk-in services for urgent care during regular busines hours. Consultation to faculty, staff, family, and friends concerned about a student. Workshops and presentations provided around campus by request. Topics include stress management; balancing school, work, and family responsibilities; communication skills; making and keeping relationships. Services available to all UC students. Evaluations for learning disabilities (LD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) available to students referred by the Disability Services Offices at UC; fees are charged for these evaluations. Types of providers: Experienced, licensed professionals with advanced degrees; closely supervised advanced trainees in mental health fields. Hours: Monday 9 AM – 6 PM, Tuesday 9:00 AM - 7:PM, Wednesday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00PM. Location: 316 Dyer Hall Cost: Initial interview is free. For subsequent individual and couple counseling appointments, the fee is $60. For students with UC Student Health Insurance, the insurance usually pays $48 and the student’s co-pay is $12. Some other insurance plans may cover services at the CC. Group counseling is free. Students will be seen despite ability to pay—through a sliding fee arrangement. UHS Mental Health Clinic, Directed by Milt Foreman, PhD - part of University Health Services (UHS)
Services provided: Counseling for anxiety, depression, grief, sexual abuse, eating disorders, bipolar disorders, and personality disorders. Psychological assessments for ADHD, cognitive and personality functioning. Available to students with UC Student Health Insurance. Names of providers: Nancy Finch, LPCC and pre- or post-doctoral trainees supervised by Dr. Foreman; Dr. David Leonard and 4th years Psychiatry residents. Types of Providers: LPCC, MA, Ph.D., PsyD, MD Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM Location: 333 Richard E. Lindner Center Cost: $65 per visit for counseling; $80 for an initial visit with a psychiatrist; $70 for a follow-up visit with a psychiatrist. UC Student Health Insurance pays $48.
