REACH SERVICES

REACH offers a wide range of services to assist employees, supervisors and family members. All services can be tailored to suit each individual person and situation. Services are offered at the Cincinnati Uptown Campus, Clermont College and Raymond Walters. REACH is committed to providing quality services and is willing to come to you if need be. REACH services are provided at no cost to all UC employees and dependents.

SPECIALTY SERVICES

REACH offers several different services that are specialized and targeted for a specific population. These services require specialized training and/or certification.

DEPT. OF TRANSPORTATION SUBSTANCE ABUSE ASSESSMENTS

CRITICAL INCIDENT STRESS MANAGEMENT

ASSESSMENTS - REACH can assist individuals, supervisors or departments in completing drug and alcohol assessments as required by job evaluations, mandated or personal concerns. All clients will complete a psychosocial assessment during their initial meeting with staff. Assessments will be used to determine if outside referrals or additional resources are needed.
COUNSELING – The staff at REACH is capable of providing many different types of counseling services. Counseling Services are generally short-term, meaning 5 – 10 sessions. Depending on the seriousness of the depth of the problems or concerns a client could be referred to a service provider for long term counseling.

TRAININGS – REACH is committed to providing quality training that is suited to meet those individuals and groups needs. Training can be provided to small and large groups. Any training can be chosen from the link below or tailored to meet specific needs or address particular concerns. REACH provides several trainings each month that are open to all employees and their families (Brown Bag Lunches). REACH may also provide a series of trainings that have a specific focus and are offered at different dates and times than the monthly trainings.

MEDIATIONS - REACH is available to all employees and management for mediation services. Mediation is often used when an employee or supervisor are experiencing conflict that is detrimental to productivity of the workplace. REACH can provide non-bias, solution focused approach to resolving the problem or conflict.
CONSULTATION - REACH can provide a non-bias, non-judgmental look at a departments, teams, or individuals professional work environment, behavior and work/life balance. Consultation is recommended for those who would like to improve their team’s efficiency and productivity. All consultations are suggestion and are not reported to any administrative body without expressed consent.

CASE MANAGEMENT- REACH counselors can provide case management to all faculty, staff and their families free of charge. Following the services provided by REACH, a client may be referred to outside services such as a mental health professional. REACH can assist the client by providing follow-up and monitoring services to ensure the quality of care.

RETREATS/ TEAM BUILDING – REACH believes in the value of teamwork and togetherness. That’s why REACH now provides Retreat and team building services. Retreats/team building sessions are meant to strengthen the team’s cohesion, by improving communication, clarifying expectations, gaining professional knowledge and re-acquainting team members. These services can be scheduled from 2 hour to all day sessions.

REFERRAL PROCESS – If REACH can not provide the services that you need, we are committed to helping you find someone who can. REACH is capable of providing referrals to a wide range of resources within the UC community and from outside providers. REACH can assist in the referral process and provide follow-up to ensure services are optimal.
CONFIDENTIALITY – REACH is committed to the privacy and respect of all our clients. All services are confidential and all service providers are mandated to confidentiality by federal law.
COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE – REACH wants to ensure that all individuals and groups receiving services are treated with respect and dignity.  All services are provided with the soul intent of meeting each person’s or groups needs and goals.

SPECIALTY SERVICES

DEPT. OF TRANSPORTATION SUBSTANCE ABUSE ASSESSMENTS - REACH has a qualified substance abuse professional to assist with alcohol and drug abuse assessments to meet the Federal Department of Transportation requirements.

 

CRITICAL INCIDENT STRESS MANAGEMENT- REACH can assist your UC department in the event of a critical incident including suicide, armed robbery, violent attack, natural disasters, traumatic accidents, death of a close friend or co-worker. Educational and supportive group sessions along with discussions that allow people to normalize the event are provided free of charge to the UC community and available upon request. Because people react differently to traumatic events, immediate responses from a professional are necessary for the well being of the person affected and the morale of the team or department affected.
