Langsam Library, one of 16 libraries on UC campuses, is named for Walter Langsam, UC's president from 1955 to 1971.

UC's libraries serve the university community as a gateway to rich intellectual resources. The libraries have over 3 million volumes, close to 38,000 current periodicals, and over 19,000 films and videos, as well as 33,700 serial subscriptions. There are specialized libraries for music, law, art, education, engineering, science, mathematics, medicine, nursing and classics. And, as part of OhioLINK, UC libraries provide students and faculty with access to over 45 million materials from 85 libraries throughout the state.

UC's libraries give students access to extensive technology resources, including Windows and Macintosh computer labs in Langsam, and six Info Commons that contain specialized technology to assist library users with their research needs.

Langsam Library's design is based on Prairie Style modernism. The neon "light trees" in the plaza are by Hargreaves and Associates.
