Two stone lions grace the entrance to McMicken Hall. McMicken Hall.

Two stone lions --"Mick" and "Mack" -- grace the entrance to McMicken Hall.

Presented to the university in 1904, they are copies of statues at the Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence, Italy.

Several campus organizations continue the tradition of requiring initiates to kiss Mick and Mack.

UC's most traditional architecture can be found on the western edge of campus, overlooking Clifton Avenue.

McMicken Hall is the centerpiece of this district.

This building, like the college it houses, is named for Charles McMicken whose 1852 endowment enabled the City of Cincinnati to establish the educational institution now known as the University of Cincinnati.
