Uptown Campus West
Questa intera area un tempo fungeva da enorme parcheggio, ma oggi è un invitante spazio verde per eventi e riunioni. Il campus della UC è verde perché quasi tutti i parcheggi sono stati trasferiti in garage a più livelli ai confini esterni del campus. Gli studenti della UC possono avere l’automobile, persino gli studenti del primo anno – e per il parcheggio si deve pagare una tariffa trimestrale. Il costo esatto dipende dal tipo di parcheggio che si sceglie.
Sigma Sigma Commons è un punto di raccolta popolare tra gli studenti e qui si svolgono molti eventi del campus come concerti con band, festival, tra cui la tradizionale festa annuale Sigma Sigma Carnival.
L’Engineering Research Center, ovvero il centro di ricerca ingegneristico ospita programmi in campo tecnologico sia di laurea breve che master, dottorati e laboratori di ricerca. È stato progettato da Michael Graves, uno dei più illustri alunni della UC, che è diventato uno degli architetti più famosi del mondo.
This entire area used to be a huge parking lot, but now it’s a great green space for gatherings and events. UC is a green campus because almost all parking has been moved to multi-level garages along the campus’ outer edge. Students at UC are allowed to have cars, even as first- year students – a quarterly fee is charged for parking. The exact price depends on which parking facility you choose.
Sigma Sigma Commons is a popular gathering place for students and a site for many campus events like band concerts and festivals, including the annual tradition of Sigma Sigma Carnival.
The Engineering Research Center houses graduate and undergraduate engineering programs and research labs. It was designed by Michael Graves, one of UC’s most distinguished alumni, who has became one of the world’s most important architects.
