UCARC Repeater

147.060+ MHz - 100Hz PL

Our 147.06+ repeater sits high atop the UC main campus on Calhoun Hall. We transmit about 100 watts through a Hustler G6-144B vertical antenna, and listen on an identical antenna placed on the opposite side of the building. The machine requires 100Hz PL, in addition to transmitting 100 Hz PL on the output for those who don't want to be entertained by Cincinnati's fine intermod products. The CAT-1000 repeater controller features DTMF testing, an autopatch, and signal playback (thanks to a Digital Voice Recorder). Plans are in the works for weather related information to be available on the repeater as well. Repeater access codes are available to any club member, regardless of (lack of) affiliation with the University of Cincinnati. For more information, e-mail the club.

Autopath Procedure

Manual autopatch operation

  1. First identify yourself and state that you wish to use the autopatch. For example - "W8YX for the autopatch".
  2. Let the carrier drop. This is in case a control operator needs to interrupt.
  3. Activate the patch by using the code to dial. Wait for the dial tone. Dial the number as you would a regular phone.
  4. Use the deactivation code to "hang up" the patch.
  5. Reidentify yourself with your callsign and state that you are done with the patch. For example - "W8YX clear with the patch".
