Artistic Director - Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca Link to faculty eProfessional résumé David H Adams Professor CCM Performance Studies College Conservatory of Music david.adams@uc.edu +1 (513) 556-3442 A special summer program of the College-Conservatory of Music, OTMFL was founded in 1996 by CCM faculty Malcolm Fraser and Lorenzo Malfatti. It takes place in Lucca, Italy, over a five-week period in June and July of every summer. It has evolved into a program with the following components: a full opera production; a separate vocal program intended for graduate level voice students (Complesso Bel Canto) for Italian operatic role study and preparation; another vocal program (Studio) designed for undergraduate voice students, consisting of master classes, Italian song repertoire, and opera scene preparation. There is also a chamber music / orchestral program for instrumentalists. There are places for student pianists and theater tech students as well. All students take Italian language classes through the Koine Center in Lucca. Altogether there are about 85 students and about 15 faculty members in a given summer, both from UC and other institutions. Multiple public performances are given in and around Lucca during the course of the program. The current artistic director is CCM professor David Adams. The general manager is Sara Dukic. The program is currently scheduled to terminate after the summer of 2008 due to budget cuts. Project commenced on June 15, 1996 Target Countries Italy
