College Day Activities

Students at Convocation Event

College Day is an opportunity for you to meet classmates within your specific college, meet faculty, administrators, and your academic advisor, as well as learn the expectations that your college has of you!

College Day activities will begin immediately after New Student Convocation, which will end around 11:00 a.m.. See information listed about your college below.  

College of Arts & Sciences

Time: 11:00 a.m.

Location: Fifth Third Arena

Details: Student will participate in the common reading panel discussion at Fifth Third Arena immediately following New Student Convocation.  Lunch will then follow on Sigma Sigma Commons.  After lunch students will participate in small group book discussions, as well as academic advisor and major meetings.

College of Allied Health Sciences 

Time: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

Location: French West, by the School of Social Work

Details: Students will meet at French West, by the School of Social Work, immediately following New Student Convocation.  Students will then walk or take the shuttle to East Campus, where lunch will be served on University Commons and activities will take place in French East. Students will meet with their faculty mentor, instructor, and learning community classmates and have a welcome by the Dean and Department Heads. Studetns will need to bring a copy of their Fall schedule that shows their building and room numbers.

College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services 

Time: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Location: 407 Annie Laws, Teacher's College

Details: Students should bring their UCID and report to Annie Laws Room 407 Teachers College.  Lunch will be provided.  After lunch, the group will proceed to Zimmer Hall for the remaining activities.

College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning 

Time: 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

Location: Aronoff 4400

Details: Students will meet in Aronoff 4400 and are reminded to bring the required recyclable or found item for the design project.  Lunch will be provided.

Time: 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Location: Sigma Sigma Commons

Details: Students will meet for a first-year class photo on Sigma Sigma Commons.  Lunch will then be held on the Schneider Quadrangle.

Lindner College of Business

Time: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Lindner College of Business

Details:  Students will have an opportuntiy to discuss Making College Count with the author, meet other students in their learning community teams, and meet faculty. Lunch Will be provided.

Time: 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Location: Proctor Hall, East Campus

Details: Students should proceed to the green space between Proctor Hall and the Vontz Center.  Lunch will be provided.
