Selected by a diverse committee of UC faculty, staff, students and alumnae, the winner is announced at the annual event. The C-Ring requires the highest GPA of all the awards given by the university, and nominees must demonstrate a commitment to the betterment of our campus, community and the advancement of women.
Leading Women, Inc.
Leading Women, Inc., established the Leading Women's Fund within the Women's Fund of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, in 2000. The Women's Fund is a permanent endowment housed at the Greater Cincinnati Foundation that provides grants to programs serving women and girls in this region. The fund was the brainchild of several women in Leadership Cincinnati and several women who were Woman of the Year honorees. They saw the need in our community to ensure that the great non-profit organizations helping women will have a permanent place to go for support and ongoing funding. Since its inception, the Women's Fund has raised over $500,000 in endowment funds, including a named fund that was established by Leading Women, Inc. A number of UC women are former winners including Sandra Degen, Vice President for Research and Anne Runyan, Professor and Head of the Department of Women's Studies.
The YWCA Salute to Career Women of Achievement was established in 1980 to increase community awareness and appreciation of the diverse contributions of women in the work force and in the community. This year's Annual Career Women of Achievement Luncheon will be April 29, 2008.
