The Higher Education Collaborative for Women's Leadership Development of Greater Cincinnati (HEC-WILD)

HEC-WILD is committed to increasing women in leadership roles in the higher education community.  Participating institutions include Cincinnati State, the College of Mount St. Joseph, Northern Kentucky University, the University of Cincinnati, the Union Institute and Xavier University.  The Women’s Leadership Conference

The Women’s Leadership Conference is an annual forum for all women of the University of Cincinnati community.  Organized by University Conferencing, the WLC provides the opportunity to develop and enhance the leadership potential of women at all levels.

Ohio Academic Leadership Academy

Sponsored by the Ohio Inter-University Council, this leadership development opportunity is open to all faculty and administrators seeking entry-level academic positions.  This opportunity prepares leaders for colleges and universities in Ohio, and participants will gain a clear understanding of responsibilities and make valuable networking connections amongst the Ohio public education community.  Sponsored by a participant’s home institution, you may contact your provost’s office if interested.

Focus on Women: Women in Student Affairs Conference (WISA)

Sponsored by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Region IV-East, this conference is open to all who wish to attend.   The conference fosters and promotes networking, resources for women, and career development strategies/skills training.  For more information please visit the NASPA / WISA 2009 Conference Website, or contact Kathryn Campbell at (202) 387-3760 x403.

Alice Manicur Symposium for Women Aspiring to be Senior Student Officers (SSAOS)

Sponsored by NASPA’s Center for Scholarship, Research, and Professional Development for Women, this conference is open to all women in mid-level managerial positions contemplating a move to senior student affairs positions in the near future.  The conference will offer training in strategic thinking, leading change, planning career advancement and continual development, and personal and professional life balance.  The location for this conference is to be determined, and the meeting will take place in January of 2010.  For more information please visit the NASPA/Alice Manicur website. 

American Council on Education (ACE) National and Regional Leadership Forums

ACE/OWHE National Forums are open to women administrators who plan to move into presidential, vice-presidential, major deanship, or other comparable senior executive positions in high education, while ACE/OWHE Regional Forums are geared toward moving women into associate deanships, deanships, and associate academic officer positions.   For more information please visit the ACE website.

Higher Education Resource Services (HERS)

HERS Intitutes offer intensive residential development programs for women in mid and senior level positions. Programs are offered at the following locations: Bryn Mawr College, the University of Denver, and Wellesley College.  Institute dates and application deadlines vary by location.  For more information please visit the HERS website.
