Parents Magazine recently named the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens one of the top ten best zoos for children!

At your Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, a group of researchers are racing against the clock to save the polar bear. Since 2007, researchers from the Lindner Center for Conservation and Research of Endangered Species (CREW) have monitored female bears from 16 cooperating zoos around the country with hopes of creating a successful captive breeding program that can be replicated in the wild.
CREW recently received a challenge grant from the Shumaker Family Foundation. The Zoo must raise $35,000 by December 15, 2009 to meet that challenge and receive the Shumaker match of $35,000, providing a total of $70,000 towards this much-needed, groundbreaking research. The Zoo invites you to be part of the Polar Bear Challenge.
