FALL TREE AND PLANT IDENTIFICATION WITH HIKES

Sat., Nov. 5-26, 10 am-1 pm / $159 / Four Classes

Various Locations including Spring Grove Cemetery

Students will hike outdoors and will learn about native trees, shrubs, wildflowers, and non-native invasive trees and shrubs. This course provides an introduction on how to identify woody plants (trees, shrubs, and vines) with an emphasis on plants growing wild in the Ohio area. Students will learn plant anatomy and terminology to develop their plant identification skills. We will also cover the ecology of the plants discovered during our field trips. The book, “Woody Plants of Ohio,” by E. Lucy Braun, and a hand lens (10X) would come in handy for you to bring.
