Each term, we invite local authors to share their latest books. These multi-media presentations make a fun evening filled with information and great stories. At the end of the class, you will receive a copy of their book and a deeper appreciation of the subject matter.

In this unique course, learn about the rich and exciting history of the music pioneers and other colorful personalities responsible for making Cleveland and beyond, truly, the rock and roll capital of the world. Deanna Adams, author of several books on rock and roll in Ohio, will begin by telling of the first rock concert which took place at the Cleveland Arena on March 21, 1952. You'll learn about the Cleveland record spinners that "got the rock rollin'," such as Alan Freed, Bill Randle, Tommy Edwards, and Casey Kasem. Did you know there are 5 Ohio musicians inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Find out who they are in this program! So join the fun as you "experience" this musical history by listening to the recordings of the diverse artists while learning their stories. Ohio really does rock!
