TOEL Test Prep

The TOEFL iBT is a test that measures English academic proficiency. It is used as one part of the admission process at many English-speaking universities. Also, many medical and licensing agencies use them for professional certification purposes.

About This Course

This course will cover all four areas of the TOEFL iBT; reading, writing, listening and speaking.  Students who want to take this TOEFL class usually have more success if they have a high intermediate to advanced level of English. This class is not a beginner English class; we will not be teaching basic English skills.

Learning Objectives:

  • At the completion of the reading section of this test prep class, students will be able to demonstrate the following by reading a passage in English and answering multiple choice questions in English.

  • At the completion of the listening section of this test prep class, students will be able to demonstrate the following by listening to passages in English and answering multiple choice questions in English.

  • At the completion of the speaking section of this test prep class, students will be able to demonstrate the following by speaking in English.

  • At the completion of the writing section of this test prep class, students will be able to demonstrate the following by writing in English.

  • Produce clear, organized texts and responses appropriate to situation, purpose, and audience.
  • Reflect on connections among ideas within the course and their own academic, personal, social, and professional lives.
