A $10 million estate gift from the Alpaugh Foundation will support the Alpaugh Family Economics Center at the University of Cincinnati, continuing the extraordinary legacy the Alpaugh family began half a century ago.

The University of Cincinnati Board of Trustees elected officers during its Dec. 16, 2025, meeting, and Greg Hartmann was unanimously elected chair for 2026. Jill McGruder will serve as vice-chair, and Shelly Gillis will serve as secretary.

The University of Cincinnati is making college more attainable for students across Ohio with the creation of the Bearcat Affordability Grant. The new grant will provide a pathway to tuition-free college for students of families who make less than $75,000 per year. Beginning in fall 2026, the Bearcat Affordability Grant will cover the remaining cost of tuition for Ohio residents who are Pell eligible.
