Vice Provost and Dean, Cincinnati Online
Jason Lemon, PhD, is Dean and Vice Provost for Cincinnati Online. Online education is an important part of the university’s growth strategy, connecting our classrooms to students around the globe by providing online degree programs. Jason has more than 20 years of experience in higher education, most notably in distance learning. Previously Jason worked for the University of San Diego where he served as Dean of Professional and Continuing Education. In this role he created a new model for online delivery, garnering more than 16,000 annual enrollments. Additionally, Lemon designed and launched five online master’s degrees, one of those being multidisciplinary.
Prior to his service at the University of San Diego, Lemon served as Associate Dean for UC Berkeley Extension. In his role as Chief Executive Officer for Extension, Lemon led all academic departments, including online learning. He was responsible for distributed staff and academic initiatives in five Bay Area centers and locations, and grew enrollment revenue from $28m in 2008/2009 to $32m in 2009/2010.
Lemon has a B.A. in history from Brigham Young University, and went on to earn a M.A. and PhD from Emory University.
