CSR NIBRS Offenses

• UCPD- All three show increases
• CPD decrease in person and property offenses

NIBRS Offenses: Society

• Liquor violations increased – more underage drinking increase
• Disorder conduct increases

• CPD - Down 56 overall
• UCPD – Up 3 overall

• Theft from buildings & property theft up 19
  • most cases students leave their belongings and walk away briefly and items gone when they return also items missing from construction sites
  • Scooter theft continues to be a problem

CSR NIBRS Offenses: Reports

• Robbery –down 10 a 40 decrease over the three-year average

CSR Auto Thefts

• Auto theft up 4, down 15% of 3YA mostly due to vehicles kept running i.e. DoorDash

CSR Burglary Reports

• Burglaries down 7 trending a little bit higher for the three-year average

Pedestrian Collisions

• Down two from last year 12 percent year to date - no fatalities

• Ted Langdon was promoted to Director of Emergency Communication
• Glenn Anderson was rehired as a Police Officer
• Officer Jamela Doddy graduated with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from U

Use of Force

• March 1, 2026: Two police officers used bodily force to arrest a subject who was actively resisting during a disorderly conduct incident.

Display of Force

• March 11, 2026: A Police Officer displayed his firearm at a wanted subject that was ignoring the officer's commands who was known to possibly be armed with a firearm from previous criminal history.

• April 1, 2026: A Police Officer displayed his Taser at a subject while attempting to flee scene from a Shot Spotter alert
  • Consistent with training and Use of Force Policy
• April 5, 2026: A Police Officer displayed her Taser at a subject that was wanted for discharging a fire extinguisher and fleeing the scene while ignoring the officer's commands

  • Each year, Police Week serves as a moment of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance for law enforcement officers and their families. UC Public Safety is honored to take part in this national Observance. This year, Officers Ellison, Furney, Miars, and Trabel represented the UCPD Motors Unit. In addition, UCPD’s Officer Hubbard attended with the Hamilton County Police Association Honor Guard
• Deputy Larry Henderson Jr. Memorial Events
  • UC Public Safety joined the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and the City of Cincinnati in honoring Deputy Larry Henderson Jr., just over a year after his death. Public Safety unveiled a plaque in our lobby in memory of Deputy Henderson, and the City of Cincinnati named "Deputy Larry Henderson Jr. Way" at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Burnet Woods Drive. Deputy Henderson was a passionate UC fan. He traveled with the UC Football team for about 16 years, where he built and maintained positive relationships with players and coaches. When he retired after 33 years with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, first as a Corrections Officer and later as a Patrol Officer who was part of many specialized units, Deputy Henderson rejoined the Sheriff's Office as a Special Deputy, in part so he could continue working with the football team and for other special events at UC. Deputy Henderson truly left a mark on the Bearcat community, not just in the UCPD but in UC Athletics and across the wider UC community. Public Safety was honored to take part in honoring his life and legacy
