Pass Grade Opt–In Policy

Instructors will continue to submit letter grades for their Summer Semester 2020 classes.

Summer Semester 2020 enrolled undergraduate and graduate students in eligible UC programs will be given the option to convert a class grade to “P” (Pass).

For undergraduate students, only UC grades of “C- (minus)” or better will have the option of being converted to a “P” grade. (i.e., A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, or C-).

For graduate students, only UC grades of “C” or better will have the option of being converted to a “P” grade (i.e., A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, or C).

A student may choose this option on a class–by–class basis.  There is not a limit to the number of Summer Semester 2020 grades that can be converted.

Students will make their per-class opt–in selection for the “P” grade known to UC via the Catalyst student portal once the instructor has submitted Summer Semester 2020 final grades for the class section.

For Summer Semester 2020, students will be given until August 19, 2020 @11:59 p.m. to request in Catalyst that a grade be converted to a “P” (Pass).
