As a public university, the physical assets of the University of Cincinnati are owned by the state of Ohio and therefore all of us who use the space are bound by the laws of the State of Ohio. The Department of Planning + Design + Construction is the steward of the physical assets. This department is responsible for design and construction, both major and minor projects. We also set the standards for the built environment including furniture and fixtures and in particular we are in charge of public space so that the university has a standard for our interior design to reflect the acclaim of our exterior campus. We do so because the university is the size of a medium city and just imaging having over 40,000 designers! Our mission is to serve the university and we are here to help. Below are frequently asked questions. If you have a need that is not addressed, please do not change the physical space, but do call our department and we will help you. A quick call can save you time and money by preventing the need to do things twice. 513-556-1933.
