Despite widespread recognition that access to primary care improves health outcomes and reduces mortality across the lifespan, the U.S. continues to face significant challenges in providing adequate primary care—particularly in rural and low-income communities. With nearly 90% of nurse practitioners trained in primary care, their role in expanding access and reducing health disparities is both critical and timely.
