Wage Assistance for Small Businesses

With the NEXT Apprenticeship Program, we are able to offset the talent crunch by providing a continuous source of trained student talent, while providing up to $4,800 matching funds per student hire for small businesses with fewer than 50 employees.

Traditional skills-first recruiting can be summarized as:

  • Post a job.
  • Wait.
  • Hire a recruiter.
  • Wait.
  • Return to step one.

It creates escalating costs in the form of time and money, the two resources tech companies, especially small businesses, cannot afford to waste. A larger corporation may be able to absorb the cost of a bad hire; small businesses can’t.

With the NEXT Apprenticeship Program, we are able to offset the talent crunch by providing a continuous source of trained student talent, while providing up to $4,800 per student hire for businesses with fewer than 50 employees. This allows for cost saving across the board. All that is needed for a start-up to engage is:

  • Go through a brief online-training on how to work with students (beginning Nov. 1st).
  • Hire a student as a W2 employee.
  • Provide feedback on student hires.
  • Provide a safe work environment.
  • Match all funds provided for student salaries.
