Italy & Spain

The European Experiential Learning Program will give students the opportunity to travel to Turin, Italy; Milan, Italy; and Barcelona, Spain. This three-credit-hour undergraduate course can be used as an elective or as an international experience. Students will visit businesses in each of the three cities and multiple cultural sites.

Industry site visits include Luxottica, BasicNet, S.p.A., and General Cable. Cultural site visits include Mole, Egyptian Museum, Cinema Museum, Sagrada Familia, FC Barcelona futball game, Las Ramblas, Guell Park, Gothic Quarter and much more.

All undergraduate students who are over 18 years of age. Co-op students will be able to fit this trip between Spring and Summer Semester.

Program Overview:

This course integrates experiential learning in a study abroad opportunity. Students will interact with businesses, universities and cultural events in Italy and Spain, spending three days in Torino, three days in Milan, and four days in Barcelona.

Living Accommodations:

Students will stay in safe, faculty-selected hotels throughout the trip and will share a room with one or two other students. Students may choose to partner with a friend or we will help you find someone with whom you can room.

Documents Required:

  • Complete and submit a program application. This study tour has a cap of 20 students and a competitive application process. Submit an application even if you are not 100% sure you will be able to go; if you do not have an application, you cannot go.
  • A valid passport is required for this program
  • Students must participate in a UC International Pre-Departure Orientation
  • Limited scholarship money may be available through your college. Please check with your college.

Projected Costs:

Costs are based on number of participants. Approximate cost is $2,500 plus tuitition. Cost includes airfare, lodging, program fee and some group dinners. Cost does not include other meals, entertainment or personal spending. Students will receive a $200 block grant towards the program cost.
