Application Process

Please read and follow all the steps below completely. This ensures a quicker approval and reimbursement process. Contact the GSG VP with any questions.

Decide when you want to have an event and submit all documents by the applicable deadline stated below. Allow for 1 week after the deadline to receive the committee’s decision.

Event must occur after this one week period. GSAs may make the expense for the approved amount only after the decision is communicated. Expenses made prior to approval ARE NOT be eligible for reimbursement. 

  1. Complete the Group Grant Award application and obtain the required signatures.
    PDF format
    Obtain a supporting letter on UC letterhead from your group’s faculty advisor.
  2. Scan the completed and signed application and all other relevant documents as a single PDF file.
    Please name your PDF file as follows: Deadline name, GSA name, short grant title, “GG” (for Group Grant).
    Example: Fall 2015-1 Anthropology GSA Speaker Series GG.pdf
  3. Email your PDF file to the GSG VP <> before the deadline.
  4. Submit the original application to the GSG office (683 Steger) by 5:00 p.m. on the deadline date.

A submission is considered complete when we receive:

  • The application and supporting documents in a scanned PDF file AND
  • The original application and original supporting documents in paper at the GSG office.

The GGRC is not responsible for delays caused by incomplete applications.

Post-Approval Instructions

The GSG requires all Group Grant Award recipients to prepare an evaluation of their activity/event.

To meet this requirement, complete the evaluation form AND post pictures about your activity/event on the GSG Facebook group. This serves as a valuable learning tool for both the GSG and other grantees, and helps us collect information from grant recipients.
