Limitations


Certain limits apply to tuition remission benefits. Please review the information below carefully.

Check Your Bill

You will not receive a confirmation email that tuition remission has been applied. Employees and dependents must check their bills on the UCOneStop website.  In the event tuition remission is not being applied to your account, contact Human Resources at tuitionremission@uc.edu or 513-556-6381. Late fees will not be waived.

Your dependent’s Social Security Number must be stored in both UC Flex and Catalyst and the numbers must be the same in order for Tuition Remission to apply.  If your dependent did not provide his/her SSN as part of the UC application process, then he/she must provide it to the Registrar’s office.  You will need enter your dependent’s SSN in UC Flex.

For full-time and part-time employees (faculty and staff):

  • Tuition remission does not cover late registration fees, non-resident surcharges or late payment fees and interest charges.
  • Tuition Remission is only available for graded courses, except for AAUP represented faculty.
  • Any ineligible person who applies for and receives tuition remission will be billed and held accountable for payment.
  • Employees are not eligible to receive tuition remission benefits as both an employee and dependent.

For spouses, domestic partners, and dependents:

  • Tuition remission does not cover late registration fees, non-resident surcharges or late payment fees and interest charges.
  • Tuition remission only covers the instructional fee.
  • The maximum number of attempted credits, as defined by the Registrar, at the undergraduate level to which full tuition remission benefits may be applied is 144 credit hours. In cases where the minimum number of credit hours required to complete a program is greater than 144 credit hours, tuition remission will cover the minimum number of credit hours required.
  • Dependent may not receive tuition remission benefits as both employee and dependent
  • Tuition Remission will not apply to your record unless your SSN is the same in Catalyst and UCFlex. The dependent is responsible for providing SSN information to OneStop.
