Did You Know…  I was an undergraduate student at UC and began my international career teaching English in Florence, Italy before studying abroad in Belgium and traveling throughout Europe.  Now I’ve taken students to China the last five summers and traveled all over East Asia.

International  Background: Travel to over 30 countries in six continents – including a semester abroad in Argentina (in high school) and semesters abroad in Luxembourg, Spain and New Zealand.

Did You Know… my family hosted foreign exchange students so growing up I had "siblings" from France, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Russia and Argentina.

Juliet Manto, Assistant Director (Faculty-Led Study Abroad)

International  Background:  I worked in Rome for 4 years running study abroad programs for American students coming to Europe. While I was living abroad, I earned  a Masters degree and perfected my Italian language skills. Just ask me about Italy – its an incredible study abroad destination for UC students! 

Did You Know… My first international experience was working in Costa Rica. As well as learning about culture, I loved using my Spanish language skills daily. Also, I have dual US/ EU citizenship.

Cory Smith, Assistant Director (Faculty-Led Study Abroad)

International  Background:  I have traveled to Belgium, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Dubai, England, France, India, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.  I lived and worked in Madrid for 8 years completing a Master of Spanish and running study abroad programs for American students coming to Spain.  I also started my own language school for Spaniards learning English and a company offering Architecture programs for Americans in Spain.    

Did You Know… My first international experience was a 1 week French exchange to Canada in Middle School followed by 2 weeks in France and 2 in Costa Rica in High School and a semester in Madrid in College.  I have traveled to 5 countries as a student and to 4 with students.

Brittney Smith, Assistant Director (Faculty-led Study Abroad and Incoming Exchange Students)

International  Background: Travel throughout the Middle East, including Jordan, Oman, Bahrain, and the U.A.E. Studied abroad for a semester in Dubai and a summer in Jordan.

Did You Know… I interned with the US Department of State Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs in Bahrain, post American Embassy Manama.
