Civil engineering student builds future at UC

At the College of Engineering and Applied Science, students have the opportunity to engage in meaningful research work with expert faculty. Vinay Chandra Patnala was drawn to the University of Cincinnati to further his knowledge in the field of civil engineering by pursuing a master's degree. Focusing on projects related to steel connections and increasing structural efficiency, Patnala was named Graduate Student Engineer of the Month by CEAS.

Tony Nominee Dorian Harewood receives BFA from CCM

Tony nominee Dorian Harewood was honored with a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music on August 8. Harewood studied at CCM, but left the university in 1972 prior to graduating to pursue his first acting offer.

Could body roundness index replace BMI?

For decades, body mass index, or BMI, has been a widely used medical screening tool. But experts from the American Medical Association have pointed out some of the metric’s shortcomings. Now a recent paper published in JAMA Network Open reported that the body roundness index, or BRI, shows promise as a better predictor of mortality in adults.
