Spider mating research discussed on radio
Biological sciences professor George Uetz recently discussed his spider research with Ann Thompson on her 91.7 WXVU Cincinnati Public Radio program Focus on Technology on Jan. 29. Uetz co-authored a study on how male wolf spiders surreptitiously copy the mating dances of their rivals in attempts to steal their mates. For the study, spiders were placed in a lab and made to watch iPods with videos of other males performing a leg-tapping mating dance. For more information, go to
