The longtime WCPO-TV sports anchor will be inducted into the UC Journalism Hall of Fame during the Journalism Programs annual awards luncheon to be held at noon May 18 in the Richard E. Lindner Centers Faculty Club.
Janson, an Elder High School graduate and former McMicken College of Arts & Sciences student, got his start in broadcasting at WSAI-AM radio in the mid-60s. He switched to television in the 1970s and joined WCPO-TV in 1984. Hes been Channel 9s sports anchor for nearly 20 years, forming a respected and successful reporting team with sports director John Popovich.
