Earn $50 this quarter and another $250 this year from Be Well UC

Start fresh this year with support from Be Well UC and UC Benefits. Work toward well-being goals and get rewarded with up to $300 wellness dollars on your paycheck.

Invest in Yourself This Year

Finding purpose builds a strong foundation and increases the likelihood of success for whatever we set out to accomplish. What’s on your list this year? Set goals with intention — and be sure to include working on your Be Well UC incentive this year, too. With in-person and online programming, a newly updated portal and with the continued wellness incentives, feel supported by UC as you invest in yourself, as there is a great return on investment and increased ability to serve others if you do.

Save the date for the third annual Invest in Yourself event on Feb. 21 and build onto your ways to be well this year.

2018 Wellness Incentives

We know that dollars and cents count, so here’s what 2018 wrapped up with:

  • 1,778 individuals earned wellness incentives from Be Well UC in 2018.
  • More than 175,000 wellness points were logged in the portal.
  • 341 individuals completed the Engagement Bonus, which rewards them for engagement 10 out of 12 months this year. 
  • 338 people earned over the 200-point maximum, demonstrating their interest and enthusiasm for well-being.
  • Congratulations to the 5 random raffle winners for who earned 400+ points: Carol Gundrum, Kenneth Marsh, Suzanne Matthey, Steven Miller and Tricia Yee.

Cash incentives earned for 2018 will be paid onto this month’s paychecks (1/22 for biweekly, 1/31 for monthly).

2019 Highlights

The program is staying fairly the same with some exciting improvements. Check out the 2019 Highlights page for details.

  • Earn up to $300 again with in wellness incentives this calendar year.
  • Step 1: Earn your “First $50” for completing any activities for 50 points. Complete this by March 31 and see $50 directly to your paycheck in April.
  • Track your $50 Engagement Bonus with Monthly Goal Setting page in Alyfe portal. Get logged into the Alyfe portal this month and plan out your 12 Months to Be Well to stay on track.
  • Simplified, streamlined portal dashboard/homepage with features like the Monthly Offerings page to see what’s happening with Be Well UC each month.

Ways to Be Well 

  • Stay in the wellness know with the monthly email listserv for announcements, updates and more. Email wellness@uc.edu to be added. Next edition goes out in early February.
  • Join other UC faculty and staff for live and online sessions. RSVP your spot at upcoming programs (details at http://bit.ly/BWUCEvents) and don’t forget to check out recurring programs and opportunities, too.
  • Live/In Person
    • Connect & Reflect Sessions: our spin on a book club with personal and professional development goals in mind. Meet with the Be Well UC team and the Staff Success Center to review and then discuss while meeting colleagues in the process. Detailed options and prompts for the winter available at: www.uc.edu/hr/cr.
    • Portal Pros: many options to meet with the team and learn how to navigate the portal and get to your maximum incentive. Don’t miss this opportunity to be a pro.
    • We’re partnering with the Student Wellness Center to share ideas and tips to make this year great with Healthy Resolutions. We’ll help you make the new year goal setting process painless (and maybe even fun). And add to our 200 Ways to Be Well banner as we work toward a #HealthyUC.
  • Online
    • Webinars can be logged as Pop-Up Events for 10 points each. Hosted by Impact Solutions and Alyfe, there is a variety of topics.
    • Choose Your Own Challenges: Earn 10 points for each challenge for a variety of topics, like Productivity, Playlists for your Life, Safety Bingo, and Grow Gratitude.
    • Wellness Workshops on Alyfe portal – These self-paced courses offer bite size tasks and learning moments on over 30 wellbeing topics.  Earn 10-30 points for each Workshop.
  • YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program Cohort 3 launches this month. Email wellness@uc.edu if interested. Next group starts at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 29 in University Hall. Must enroll by Jan. 22. Details at http://bit.ly/UCDiabetes. This is a 12-month lifestyle program to help adults at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles. Employees on the UC Anthem medical plan are eligible and must meet the qualifications. No cost ($429 value), free yearlong YMCA membership ($750 value) and unlimited support (priceless).
  • Looking to lessen your use of tobacco or even quit? Tobacco Free UC offers free cessation resources for all faculty, staff and students, like the QuitLogix quitline, Freshstart 1:1 and group sessions and more. Many of the options have a specialist you can chat with when it works best for you.
  • Check out benefits and wellness options with News You Can Use. Download one and post it in your work area and be sure to take advantage of the resources available to you.
