COVID-19 Update: September 24, 2020

Updates to spring academic calendar

We are writing to share important information with you about the upcoming spring semester. Based on our learned experiences from the current fall semester, UC will continue with a blend of online, in-person and hybrid academic offerings for the spring term. Additionally, the university is adjusting the Spring Academic Calendar to maintain alignment with our Return to Campus Plan and protect the health and safety of our Bearcat community due to COVID-19.

Spring semester will begin as originally planned. Classes are scheduled to resume on January 11, 2021. However, several adjustments have been made to the calendar to reduce travel and the potential spread of COVID-19.

  • Spring Break will not occur as originally scheduled.
  • Instead,  two Reading Days have been added to the calendar on February 16 and March 24, creating breaks to rest and recharge.
  • Spring semester will conclude two days earlier on April 27, allowing for one week and three days between the spring and summer semesters.
  • Final exams will occur April 22 – April 27.
  • For more information on the calendar and registration deadlines, visit the Spring 21 Calendar Site

Although the removal of a traditional Spring Break may be disappointing, each of us must continue to be vigilant in our safety practices to reduce risk to ourselves and others. We are proud of the efforts you have made to keep our community safe and healthy.

UC will continue to explore ways to enhance opportunities for in-person experiences and engagement this upcoming spring semester as it is safe to do so. Please be mindful that all safety measures including social distancing, facial coverings, hand washing, and use of the UC COVID Check App will be required during the spring term. Thank you again for your doing your part to keep our community safe and healthy. Together, Bearcats, we can do this!

Sincerely,

Kristi Nelson
