Alumni are nominated for four distinct awards:
- The William Howard Taft Medal for Notable Achievement recognizes long-time, remarkable accomplishment in the person’s chosen field(s). It is UCAA’s highest honor.
- The Robert E. Dobbs Distinguished Service Award recognizes tremendous dedication and service to the university.
- The Marian A. Spencer Mosaic Award recognizes leadership in fostering inclusiveness, championing the cause of the underrepresented, and promoting greater equity and opportunity for all
- The Jeffrey Hurwitz Young Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes a UC young alumnus for significant professional accomplishment in his/her field, as well as continued service and involvement with the university.
Honorees will be recognized in conjunction with the UC Alumni Celebration, which takes place each spring as part of the UCAA’s Alumni Week festivities. UC Alumni Celebration recognition will also include recipients of the Outstanding Alumni Awards with honorees representing each of UC’s 13 colleges, plus the unique training ground of UC Athletics. Outstanding Alumni Award honorees will be selected by each unit and submitted to the UCAA for recognition.
"The proof of a university’s greatness is its alumni, and the UC alumni family embodies the innovation, performance, care for others, and overall excellence that are hallmarks of our university,” said UC chief alumni officer and UCAA executive director Jennifer Heisey. “We look forward to receiving nominations of exceptional Bearcats who personify the power of philanthropy and the history, spirit, voices and connections that continue to propel our university and community forward."
Nominations can be made online, by mail (ATTN: Russell Best, UC Alumni Association, P.O. Box 210024, Cincinnati, OH 45221-0024), or email.
