Campus Parking Changes Take Effect
Parking Services has announced closing plans and alternative parking arrangements for a pair of UC parking facilities.
Construction for the Calhoun Garage project will soon begin. As a result it will be necessary to close Calhoun Lot beginning Feb. 4. Zone 3 decals who use Calhoun should therefore use the Sander, Corry or Stratford Lots.
This will also affect Calhoun’s designation as handicapped parking for UC men’s basketball games. Beginning with the Feb. 9 Oklahoma State game, the handicapped parking area and shuttle transport will move to the Scioto-Jefferson Garage, located at University and Jefferson Avenues.
On East Campus, this spring will see renovation and expansion begin in the Medical Sciences Building area, resulting in the permanent closure of Medical Sciences Garage at the end of March.
Eden Garage is prepared to meet the hourly and decal parking needs of those displaced by Medical Sciences closure. In part this is due to the anticipated opening of the new University Hospital Garage designed to serve Alliance Health employees. Their departure from UC parking facilities will provide space for former Medical Sciences parkers.
Parking Services regrets any inconvenience you may experience from ongoing campus improvement projects. Please contact the Parking Office with any questions or concerns at 556-2283 or visit their Web site, www.uc.edu/parking for more information.
