Get Some Help With a 'Major' Life Decision

Instead of continuing to take random classes to figure out what he likes and doesn’t like, UC freshmen Brad Sierer heeded some advice from his mom and from a poster. He went to UC’s new Center for Exploratory Studies to zero in on a major.

The undecided first-year student is realizing the center’s worth and recommends it to others who aren’t sure about a major. Dozens of students have already stopped by the center since it opened in February. Its target audience is the more than 900 UC students with undeclared status – a category that boasts more students than any individual major program at the university. In addition, the center serves students who are declared, but would like to explore their other academic options.
