UC's Sexual Assault Awareness Week (SAAW) Takes Place On Three UC Campuses Nov. 15 19

Sexual Assault Awareness Week 2004 is a week dedicated to raising awareness at three of UC’s campuses (Clifton Uptown campus, Raymond Walters College and Clermont College) of sexual assault among women, men and children.

SAAW 2004 offers programs such as the traditional Clothesline Project, White Ribbon Campaign, self-defense workshops as well as guest speakers. Magdalen Hsu-Li will present “Fire: Raising Awareness in Ourselves, Our Community” and Mike Domitrz will present “Can I kiss you?” One documentary being shown, eponymously called "Searching for Angela Shelton," describes the film-maker's discovery that one-half of the women named Angela Shelton whom she interviewed had been assaulted.

In addition to the many presentations, faculty trainings will be offered during the week on how to respond to students who have been sexually assaulted .

The newly created SAAW logo by two DAAP students, Amanda Eng and Nicole Armstrong, signifies safety, support, education and community.
