UC Marketing Professor Andrea Dixon Featured on WVXU's "Around Cincinnati"
"Around Cincinnati" is a new program on WVXU that tries to keep listeners up to date on whats happening in the Greater Cincinnati art world. Host Lee Hay is joined by prominent Cincinnatians who have their fingers on the pulse of community life, including Jackie Demaline of the Cincinnati Enquirer; Douglas Lowry, dean of UC's College-Conservatory of Music and Rick Pender, Arts & Entertainment Editor of CityBeat.
Here's the whole line-up for Sunday, Sept. 11, at 7 pm:
Robert Hicks preservationist, music publisher, artist manager and first-time novelist discusses his new work, "The Widow of the South," with Mark Perzel.
Jackie Demaline and Jason Bruffy, artistic director of the Know Theatre Tribe, explore the growth and diversity of the Cincinnati theatre scene.
Rick Pender speaks with Heather Hallenberg and Andrea Dixon of the Fine Arts Fund's Arts Services Office about the business community's support of local arts organizations.
Andrea Dixon has spoken at numerous companies and executive education programs on her research in sales management and in branding. Professor Dixon is currently the President of the Selling and Sales Management Special Interest Group of the American Marketing Association. She is also a member of the Board of Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy and is leading the Fine Arts Fund's Business-on-Board program, which is designed to strengthen the capacity of arts boards in the greater Cincinnati region.
"This is an example of how the Marketing Department partners with our local community to make a difference," says Karen Machleit, chair of the Marketing Department in UC's College of Business. "President Zimpher's call in UC|21 to forge external relationships and partnerships is something that we take seriously. We have marketing faculty involved throughout the community for student-learning projects (which benefit our students and the community), as professional volunteers and as Board members."
