Nobel Laureate Eric Kandel, MD, will present the Lurie Family Endowed Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience Lecture at noon Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the Medical Sciences Building s Kresge Auditorium. His topic will be, "Mice, Men and Mental Illness. The lecture is free and open to the public.

The laboratory RO (reverse osmosis) water system is down for the Care/Crawley Building north of the passenger elevators until further notice due to a pipe break, Maintenance & Operations reports. (North is toward Albert Sabin Way.) This system is mainly used to clean glassware, Maintenance & Operations says. All other systems are funtioning normally.

About 275 employers will come to UC's campus for a two-day career fair Sept. 26 and 27. Both days run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the basketball courts of the Campus Recreation Center.
