James Cannon, a pianist, and Bert Nelson, an organist, are not the typical music students you would find walking the halls at UC’s College-Conservatory of Music. Both are retired airline pilots with distinguished careers in the military who returned to school to study keyboard performance at CCM. Lauren Prather, a graduate student in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the UC College of Allied Health Sciences, holds leadership positions in the National Black Association of Speech-Language and the UC Black Graduate and Professional Student Association. She helped bring the film "Talking Black in America" to UC as part of the University's observance of Black History Month.
