CCM ranks in top 10 most represented colleges on Broadway

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music has once again been named as one of Playbill’s “Big 10.” Ranked as one of the top star-producing institutions in the nation, CCM was represented by at least 24 alumni performing on Broadway stages during the 2023-24 season according to Playbill's coverage.

Ariel Quartet opens performance series at CCM on Sept. 17

The Ariel Quartet opens its fall 2024 concert series at UC's College-Conservatory of Music at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2024, in Robert J. Werner Recital Hall. Featuring guest artist Paul Watkins, cello, the performance features chamber works by Felix Mendelssohn, Matan Porat and Franz Schubert.

Study Abroad: CCM's summer in England, Italy Scotland and Poland

As students and faculty return to campus for the start of fall semester, conversation usually starts with a recap of summer stories and adventures. Many use the time for rest or work, some use the time to plan for the next school year. At CCM, a group of theatre arts students and faculty spent their summer exploring Europe. CCM Acting and Musical Theatre students traveled to London and Scotland on a three-week study abroad trip to participate in a performance-driven intensive at Rose Bruford College. Meanwhile, two CCM Acting professors traveled to Poland to lead a week of workshops at Stary Theatre. View photos and learn more about their summer adventures below.

CCM hosts Conducting Symposium on Nov. 21-23

UC's College-Conservatory of Music hosts the CCM Conducting Symposium on Nov. 21-23, 2024. Open to rising conductors 18+, participants will have the opportunity to conduct CCM ensembles and receive instruction and feedback from CCM Ensembles and Conducting Division Head Kevin Michael Holzman and guest artist Mark Scatterday, director of the Eastman Wind Ensemble and Eastman School of Music.

CCM doctoral student appointed as May Festival Conducting Fellow

The Cincinnati May Festival has announced the appointment of Andrew Miller, a first-year DMA student in CCM’s renowned choral conducting program, as its Conducting Fellow for the 2024-25 season. Miller, who will serve as the assistant conductor for the May Festival Chorus this year, recently completed his master’s degree at the University of Louisville.

Tony Nominee Dorian Harewood receives BFA from CCM

August 9, 2024

Tony nominee Dorian Harewood was honored with a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music on August 8. Harewood studied at CCM, but left the university in 1972 prior to graduating to pursue his first acting offer.
