The rise in AI generated fake news content is concerning, especially leading up to the 2024 presidential election. For now, there are still ways to identify fake news outlets and reporting, but the average reader needs to become more savvy, says UC's social media expert Jeffrey Blevins.

In a paper in Nature Human Behaviour, UC's Anthony Chemero explains the difference between AI thinking and human thinking: although AI can "lie and BS" like its maker, it is not embodied therefore doesn't have the same definition as intelligent.

Professor Richard Harknett is a guest speaker on WVXU's Cincinnati Edition on the topic of AI and the need, or lack thereof, for government regulations. Professor Harknett is the head of UC's School of Public and International Affairs and is an often sought out media resource on technology, cybersecurity and governmental affairs.

A teacher in the West Clermont Local School District for over 22 years, Michelle Dohrmann (nie Michelle Holly) is among four finalists for the 2025 Ohio Teacher of the Year award. Dohrmann holds three degrees from UC: a bachelor's and master's from the UC School of Education and an undergraduate degree in English from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Research led by Joshua Gross, PhD, in the UC Department of Biological Sciences, revealed the blind cavefish has a similar number of taste buds as surface fish from birth up to the age of 5 months. Then, these taste buds gradually increase in number and start appearing on the head and chin during adulthood, particularly at around 18 months of age.

Nancy Jennings, professor and director of UC's Children's Education and Entertainment Research (CHEER) Lab; was a guest speaker on WVXU to discuss the subject of "Brainrot." This is a term used to describe the ills of too much screen time. The radio show also discussed how social media impacts language use for Gen Alpha, persons born after 2010.

A study by urban design researcher Hyesun Jeong, an assistant professor of design in UC's DAAP, is cited in a New York Times article on the impact of public art on development. The article highlights the trend of using public art in commercial real estate developments in cities across the country.
