In September 2021, Brad Walsh became the coordinator for the University of Cincinnati Esports Lab, which opened the following August inside the 1819 Innovation Hub. Prior to this role, Walsh had 30 years of experience in process development as a technical director managing intellectual property at Procter and Gamble.

On Monday, Feb. 27, from 5-7 p.m., the UC Ground Floor Makerspace will hold an open house inside the 1819 Innovation Hub for innovators of all ages. The collaborative workspace is equipped with 3D printers, laser cutters, woodworking, soldering stations and various other tools for prototyping and fabrication.

The University of Cincinnati 1819 Innovation Hub hosted nearly 100 girls all dressed in red from various high schools as part of the annual STEM Goes Red event. The American Heart Association (AHA) launched the initiative to provide young women with insights into the possibilities and potential they possess to make a real impact on the world around them through STEM careers.
