University of Cincinnati and Rwanda build capacity in cardiology

Rwanda faces a critical shortage of medical specialists. The University of Cincinnati's UC Rwanda Initiative has partnered with the country's ministry of health, the national University of Rwanda and the country’s teaching hospitals to develop cardiology fellowships through virtual courses and bidirectional exchange. The first two fellows visited UC for eight weeks.

UC welcomes largest global class ever

UC welcomed its largest-ever international class this fall. The enrollment of 1,547 new students tops the pre-COVID peak of 1,107 in 2018. It eclipses even the arrival of 1,224 in fall 2021 who included among their number a backlog of students who had deferred their enrollment or begun their studies online from home during the pandemic.

Canada film tour offers new perspectives for UC students

Students in degrees as varied as film and media studies, digital media, creative writing, urban planning and French traveled to Montreal and Quebec City this August as part of an interdisciplinary cinema course on place-based storytelling offered through the University of Cincinnati’s new school of Communication, Film & Media Studies this fall.
