IMPACT Innovation at the IDD Education Center proudly announces the addition of a new 12-seater transit van, made possible through a 5310 grant from the 2023 cycle. This vital resource will expand transportation services for adults with autism, supporting access to employment, education, and community experiences. The milestone was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring the program’s first associate, a celebratory ride, and recognition of key partners including the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments and American Bus. The new van symbolizes increased independence for the participants, furthering IMPACT's mission to create meaningful, community-integrated opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

On Feb. 27, 2025, the IDD Education Center hosted its 8th Annual Red & Black Blast, celebrating the achievements of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through its programs, The center proudly honored Ted Karras, Cincinnati Bengals center and founder of The Cincy Hat Foundation for his dedication to creating opportunities in education, employment, and housing for individuals with IDD.

The IDD Education Center’s IMPACT Innovation program celebrates a major milestone as associate Haley secures a position at Adrian Durban Florist. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and community partnerships, IMPACT Innovation helps adults with autism develop independence, communication, and workplace skills. Haley’s mother shares how the program has supported her daughter's growth, while program director Genna Kieper highlights the role of job coaching in Haley’s success. Adrian Durban Florist, a long-time partner, continues to be a champion. The IDD Education Center remains committed to expanding employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

The 8th Annual Red & Black Blast will celebrate the life-changing IDD Education Center programs; Collaboration for Employment and Education Synergy (CEES), Transition and Access Pathways (TAP), IMPACT Innovation (IMPACT) and our newest program, Regional Autism Advisory Council (RAAC). Red & Black Blast on February 27, 2025, at the Tangeman University Center, Great Hall on the UC campus, 6 PM – 9:30 PM. Guests will enjoy inspirational stories, dinner, cocktails, silent auction and music by ETrayn.
