The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and Cincinnati Opera are pleased to announce that The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has awarded a new grant of $550,000 to renew funding for Opera Fusion: New Works and support two new initiatives to promote diverse voices in the arts.

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music ushers in the holidays on Dec. 8 and 9, 2018, with Feast of Carols, an annual concert featuring festive choral favorites performed by the CCM Chamber Choir, Chorale and Concert Orchestra; UC Men’s and Women’s Choruses, Cincinnati Youth Choir and outstanding guest choirs from local high schools.

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's (CCM) Corbett Auditorium has played a major role in helping aspiring artists succeed while also bringing our community together. It has been the home to thousands of productions, concerts and recitals, where CCM's stars of tomorrow have showcased their talents for decades. Countless alumni made their debut on its stage and hundreds of thousands of audience members have been whisked away on musical journeys in its seats. In honor of 150 years of CCM’s legacy of producing the world’s next top stars, producers, educators, composers, behind the scenes artists and media personnel, Corbett Auditorium has received an upgrade.

The Ariel Quartet concludes its 2018-19 CCM concert series by showcasing the works of three masters of chamber music at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26. The CCM string quartet-in-residence will be joined by guest artist Yura Lee for a performance of Brahms' String Quintet No. 2. The concert program also includes works by Beethoven and Schumann.

CCM student Elena Villalón has been named a Grand Finals Winner of the Metropolitan Opera’s 2019 National Council Auditions. After a months-long series of auditions involving more than 1,000 singers at the district, regional and national levels, a panel of expert judges named Villalón and four other singers as the winners of the 65th annual Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Each winner receives a $15,000 cash prize.
