Combining leadership and professional development content in a series of health care business and management courses, the Pharmacy Leadership Graduate program customizes the learning and growth experience. Pharmacist professionals and student pharmacists will be prepared for career advancement in numerous healthcare roles. The program has a uniquely combined curriculum with courses provided by the Winkle College of Pharmacy, Lindner College of Business MBA Program, and College of Allied Health Sciences Masters in Health Administration (MHA) and Masters in Health Informatics (MHI) Programs.

- All courses are conveniently offered completely online – no classrooms or visits to University of Cincinnati are necessary!
- The curriculum is delivered via asynchronous online learning technology that allows coursework to be completed at the times that best fit your work and personal life schedules. Lectures are video-recorded and activities are posted for your review on your own schedule.
- Students can access course information at their convenience, 24 hours a day, and are also provided with opportunities for engaging in online discussions with professors and classmates.

Scholarship Opportunities
The Taylor-Frank Fund was endowed to provide scholarships designated for graduate student support. The Marianne F. Ivey Fund was endowed to provide scholarships designated for graduate student support in the Pharmacy Leadership Program. Together, these funds provide annual scholarships awarded to students pursuing the Graduate Certificate or Master’s Degree in Pharmacy Leadership.
Scholarship Amount and Deadlines
Scholarship amounts will cover tuition of one course in the program for the Fall semester. Once the course is completed, the student can continue with the remaining 4 courses for a Graduate Certificate or the remaining 9 courses for the Masters in Pharmacy Leadership degree. In some cases, smaller award amounts may be offered for partial course tuition.
Scholarship Application Deadlines
- August 1 for Fall semester awards
- December 1 for Spring semester awards
- April 1 for Summer semester awards
Evaluation Criteria for the Award
Currently enrolled students and those who have been accepted for admission in the Pharmacy Leadership graduate program are eligible to submit a scholarship application.
All applications will be considered, with preferences for high academic performance, practice and professional engagement, demonstrated financial need, and diversity. Preference will be given to those who belong to an underrepresented minority group.

Admission Requirements
- Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Proof of BS degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution, or
- Proof of a BS degree from an accredited institution AND current enrollment in a Doctor of Pharmacy program AND proof of completion of required Foundational Knowledge coursework
- Minimum 3.0 GPA recommended
- International students only: Minimum TOEFL score of >90 (or equivalent IELTS score)

Graduates are prepared to become supervisors, managers, and directors in numerous healthcare settings including:
- independent and chain community pharmacies,
- health-system inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, and clinical pharmacies,
- clinical coordinator roles,
- managed care, industry and more.
Required Capstone Project
In addition to the 27 hours of didactic coursework, students are required to complete a 3 credit hour capstone course with an applied project reflecting application and integration of their knowledge and skills in pharmacy leadership and management. Projects must be pre-approved by the Course Coordinator. The student will have project oversight and advising from a three-member capstone committee. This capstone prepares the student for independent application of leadership and management skills to address a problem or question significant to pharmacy practice advancement. Students are required to present their capstone project work and results to the committee at the culmination of the program.
ASHP Foundation Pharmacy Leadership Academy Graduates
Graduates of the ASHP Foundation Pharmacy Leadership Academy® are eligible to receive 6 semester credit hours toward the completion of the Master of Science in Pharmacy Leadership. This credit can apply for two separate 3 credit hour courses in the program – reducing the required coursework from 10 courses to only 8 courses, with program completion in just 4 semesters.
International Students are eligible to apply after taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) which is required of all applicants whose native language is not English. With an earned undergraduate or graduate degree from a U.S. college/university, this requirement will be waived. The minimum TOEFL score for admission is 90 on the internet-based test (IBT).
The IELTS can be taken in place of TOEFL. The minimum required IELTS score is 6.5.
Foreign applicants whose transcripts are not easily read may be asked to submit a full evaluation of transcripts by a U.S. agency.
