Support and Resources

Our dedicated COVID-19 team of medical and professional staff are here to support you while you’re living in quarantine and isolation housing. Our goal is to make this experience as smooth as possible for you.

Temporary Accommodations

Housing Questions:
COVID Housing Team (513) 558-3031

All quarantine and isolation rooms are single occupancy. You will have your own bathroom facilities. Your room and bathroom will have a deep cleaning before you arrive. When you arrive in your room, you will find a bottled water, cleaning supplies, a snack pack, and a linen pack with 2 sheets, blanket, towel, and washcloths. Please pack and bring any items that you will need for the entire length of quarantine or isolation as you will not be able to leave your temporary room until officially released.

Food & Dining

Dining Questions or Concerns:
Email ucfood@uc.edu

UC campus dining will deliver three contactless meals each day. You may also order delivery from local restaurants or Market on Main.

Within 24-48 hours of arrival in your room, you will receive an email from campus dining to preview menus and complete a survey with your selections for the upcoming week. Please share any dietary restrictions on the survey, as well as when you speak with the Housing team upon the start of quarantine or isolation.

UC campus dining will deliver meals outside your door and knock to let you know food has been delivered. Meals are delivered at the following times:

  • Breakfast: 8-8:30 a.m
  • Lunch: 12-12:30 p.m.
  • Dinner: 5-5:30 p.m.

If not taken inside your room, meals will be removed at the next delivery time. For optimal freshness, we encourage you to consume your meal within 90 minutes of delivery.

Being apart from others can be challenging even if you’re feeling well. You may feel bored or lonely at times. While not ideal, the COVID-19 team is here to make this experience as positive as it can be.

It is critical that you take good care of yourself during this time and seek help when needed. The CARE Team is available to assist in non-emergency situations. Please do not hesitate to reach out.

We encourage you to take steps to maintain your physical and mental well-being while in quarantine and isolation. Here are a few ideas you can try each day:

Physical Health

  • Monitor yourself for potential COVID-19 symptoms (e.g. coughing, fever, chills, muscle aches, shortness of breath). Take your temperature each day.
  • Be honest about how you are feeling when UC staff contact you. If your symptoms become serious, we will assist you in getting the medical care you need.
  • Eat regular meals and drink plenty of water.
  • Get at least 8 hours of sleep each night and shower each day.
  • Move around your room! Do some stretching or exercises in your room. UC’s Campus Recreation Center offers virtual workout videos in a library of at-home workouts with “Quarantune” playlists from their team of fitness instructors.
  • If you COVID-19-related health questions, please contact University Health Services at (513) 556-2564 or the COVID Check team at (513) 620-4560. In an emergency, always call 9-1-1.

Mental Health

  • Utilize technology to stay in touch with family and friends. Schedule a video call!
  • Take some time to relax. Catch up on your favorite shows, read a new book, or play a video game.
  • Know this is temporary! Take it one moment at a time and breathe!
  • Reach out to Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) for additional support or counseling.
    • Let’s Talk: This free virtual “drop-in” consultation program provides easy access to mental wellness support from CAPS clinicians. No paperwork or appointments required.
    • 24/7 Crisis Line: If you need immediate crisis support, call CAPS at 513-556-0648 to speak with a therapist. We’re here for you any time, any day of the week.
    • Bearcats Support Network: Join an inclusive, empathetic student community focused on destigmatizing mental health through weekly peer support groups.
  • Utilize self-help resources to improve your mental health.
    • Therapy Assistance Online (TAO): An online self-help program that provides tools to help you manage day-to-day challenges.
    • Reach Out App: Download this UC app for a wealth of information about mental health and suicide prevention.

You may not attend in-person classes while in quarantine or isolation. Most UC classes are currently being offered virtually, so they can be attended remotely. If you are feeling well enough in quarantine and isolation, you’re encouraged to attend your classes and engage with your instructors and classmates.

If you are not feeling well enough to attend class and/or have classes that require in-person attendance, we encourage you to communicate openly with your instructors. Faculty are expected to be flexible and understanding of the impact COVID-19 may have on your ability to complete course requirements on a certain date. If you need additional help working with your faculty, the CARE Team is available to provide support and advocacy.
